Bubbies Sweet Relish, 16 fl...

Bubbies Sweet Relish is a 16 fl oz (473 mL) glass jar of kitchen chopped bread and butter style relish made from coarsely cut cucumbers in a tart, lightly sweet vinegar brine with celery seed, mustard seed, onion, red bell pepper, and turmeric. It is Non-GMO Project Verified, gluten free, KSA kosher, and made without preservatives, available as a single jar or in packs of 3 and 6, shipped fast from New Jersey.

Bubbies Sweet Relish: Kitchen Chopped Bread and Butter Relish Without Preservatives

  • Kitchen chopped texture — coarsely cut cucumber pieces with real bite, not a fine, mushy grind
  • Tart and not too sweet — a balanced bread and butter brine of vinegar and sugar that does not overwhelm
  • Traditional spice blend — celery seed, mustard seed, onion, red bell pepper, and turmeric, the same profile as Bubbies Bread & Butter Chips
  • Clean, simple ingredients — cucumbers, water, sugar, vinegar, salt, calcium chloride, and spices; no preservatives
  • Non-GMO, gluten free, KSA kosher — Non-GMO Project Verified and made in the USA
  • 16 fl oz (473 mL) jar — about 32 one-tablespoon servings; choose a Single, Pack of 3, or Pack of 6

How to Use

Spoon it straight onto hot dogs, burgers, and bratwurst, or fold a tablespoon or two into egg salad, tuna salad, potato salad, and deviled egg filling. Stir it into mayonnaise with a squeeze of lemon for a quick tartar sauce, or blend it with mayo and ketchup for Thousand Island dressing. Keep the unopened jar in a cool pantry; once opened, cap tightly and refrigerate, and use a clean spoon each time.

About Bubbies

Bubbies Fine Foods has been making pickles, sauerkraut, and relishes since 1982, inspired by the old-world recipes of an Eastern European Jewish grandmother, the Bubbie on every label. The brand is known for naturally fermented kosher dills made without vinegar, alongside classic vinegar-brined bread and butter pickles, and every jar is Non-GMO Project Verified and gluten free. Frequently Asked Questions

Does Bubbies Sweet Relish contain allergens?
Bubbies Sweet Relish is made from cucumbers, water, sugar, vinegar, salt, calcium chloride, celery seed, mustard seed, onion, red bell pepper, and turmeric, with no wheat, dairy, egg, or nuts in the recipe. It is manufactured in a facility that also processes anchovy, dairy, and tree nuts, so read the printed label if you manage a food allergy.

How should I store Bubbies Sweet Relish?
Unopened jars are shelf stable, so keep them in a cool, dry pantry away from direct sunlight. Once the seal is broken, close the lid tightly and store the jar in the refrigerator, where the relish keeps its crunch and flavor for several weeks. Always use a clean, dry spoon so nothing contaminates the brine.

What is the difference between Bubbies Sweet Relish and Bubbies Kosher Dill Relish?
Sweet Relish follows a bread and butter recipe: cucumbers in a vinegar and sugar brine with celery seed, mustard seed, and turmeric, so it tastes tangy and lightly sweet. Kosher Dill Relish is naturally fermented in salt brine with garlic and dill, contains no vinegar and no added sugar, and tastes savory and garlicky. Both are chopped for spooning.

Where is Bubbies Sweet Relish made?
This jar is a product of the USA, made by Bubbies Fine Foods, a California company that has produced pickles and relishes since 1982. Unlike the fermented Bubbies kosher dills, the Sweet Relish is a vinegar-brined relish, so it ships and stores at room temperature until opened. Every jar is Non-GMO Project Verified and gluten free.

Arrived with no leaking! Great protective packaging!

I love this saurkraut and I order it from Amazon every time because I cannot find it in stores in my area. I eat it almost daily because it does help me a lot with digestion and I do think it improves gut microbiome.Twice I've ordered it from other sellers and it has arrived opened and leaking. Of course then it can't be eaten because no telling how long it's been open, and it should be refrigerated after opening. The companies did refund my money, so that was good. But the jars had to be thrown out.Well let me tell you this seller has the shipping process of this product figured out! I bought two and they arrived in super dooper thick bubble wrap. Each jar had its own enclosure and it was all intact and no leakage whatsoever. I was thoroughly impressed and relieved. Thanks for taking the time to ensure my products arrived perfectly!

Bought on a whim

While being sick with Covid, I got sick of the food I was eating, which was very basic. After looking up a tuna salad recipe, I got these pickles as a side. I hadn't meant to buy the spicy kind, but I decided to give them a try.I am suprised by how good these are. Crisp with eat bite, and just the right amount of spicy. My new go-to favorites. I've already eaten nearly the whole bottle! I will be buying more.

Need replacement jar due to damaged goods.

The media could not be loaded.

One of the jars received was of no use to me as it was damaged and no good for consumption. Pics have been provided. Other than that I would like to order more but will not if this is not resolved.

Time to correct your label

Don't get me wrong. Bubbies are the BEST!! Don Hermann and Ba-Tampte take a close back seat, HOWEVER, it's time to update your label, as its been quite some time now since you started adding calcium chloride, A PRESERVATIVE, to your ingredients, therefore, "no preservatives" is misleading. There is no shame or danger in calcium chloride -- just take it in stride, and correct your label, so you are being up front with consumers.

No vinegar means cloudy water. Fermented Pickle not a Vinegar brined Pickle

To understand these is to understand the process in which these are made. They are fresh pickles soaked in salt brine and not at all a vinegar water pickle. Hence the weird taste and color of the brine.

Fermented but they’re still in vinegar

Enjoyable eating experience. If you’re not accustomed to fermented veggies or plain kefirs, the tartness may surprise you. I find it quite pleasant, followed by a bit of heat that builds, followed by a bit of cucumber skin bitterness.Mainstream pickles are crunchy from an aluminum additive, or at least that’s what i have heard. Bubbie’s is pleasantly crunchy but dont expect the same crunch as traditional pickles.Since these cucumbers are fermented, they may have post biotic benefits, but i wonder if the vinegar negates them. Please note, not all Bubbie’s cucumber products are fermented. Look for the word “fermented” on the front of the label.

Best kraut ever!

Best kraut ever! I found these at Publix in Florida. Couldn't find them anywhere in PA so ordered on-line through Amazon. I like to eat this without even warming it up. If I want to take the edge off when I am too close to lunch or dinner I will eat 1-2 forkful of this kraut and it does the trick and tastes great. I have tried a ton of kraut and this is the best.

Love 'em. Fermented, not pickled with vinegar.

I was raised on fermented pickles. I LOVE them. The more sour, the better. And I don't mind if they are soft rather than crunchy, those are the truly sour ones. I love Bubbies pickles because it is reminiscent of what I grew up with. No vinegar added to these. I love their spicy ones even more. I hope Amazon Fresh will begin offering them more regularly. I'm a lazy fan who doesn't want to run to the local grocery store for them. But I will if I have too... lol

No seal?

3star review because I’m not sure about the lack of a seal around the jar lid. Been buying Bubbies for years. Always a seal. Waiting for Bubbies company to respond. Also, liquid not as full as previous purchases..Okay, got a response today, 5/12/26, and Bubbies no longer seal the cap with plastic. So all is safe as long as lid pops on opening.

Expensive but delicious

My all time favorite pickles. Wish they sold these more places. Also wish they were cheaper but if you're looking for a great tasting, slightly spicy, crunchy pickle this is your go to.

Most Delicious Pickles in The Universe.

These are the tastiest pickles in the world. Ibuy no others, ever. The brine is addictive. So tasty I flavor sauces with it. The pickles - perfection. Crunch and soft middle. So delicious I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS keep in the fridge. I once paid $27 dollars for a jar. I’d do it again. I’m going to have one now.

Must Try this TERRIFIC Sauerkraut!

Any time I don’t make my own - I buy Bubbies because they do not pasteurize the cabbage. This is the highest quality we have ever found without making our own.

Truly fermented, no vinegar

If you are looking for TRULY fermented pickles without any vinegar to achieve a "pickle" taste and flavor these are for you. I was so happy to finally find pickles that don't list vinegar. Some may not realize but to get health benefits from pickles they need to be fermented ( a lengthy process that requires more care and timing) and many pickles manufacturers just use vinegar which is in my book an abomination.

Perfection

The pickles were smaller than normal, but 100% tasty. This is my absolute favorite brand of pickles. Fermentation takes time, which means they're pricier than other pickles made from vinegar.

The real deal for gut health and amazing flavor!

I originally bought these Bubbies Kosher Dills for the probiotic benefits, and they definitely deliver. You can tell immediately that these are the real deal, they taste incredibly fresh and high-quality. Unlike typical store-bought pickles, these have a unique, authentic crunch and flavor that sets them apart. If you're looking for a fermented pickle that actually tastes great, this is it.
