Revlon Colorsilk 43 Medium Golden Brown: Warm Golden Medium Brown Permanent Hair Color

  • Shade 43 Medium Golden Brown — a warm medium brown with golden, honey-toned reflections
  • Ammonia-free formula — permanent color without the harsh ammonia smell many box dyes have
  • 100 percent gray coverage — covers gray and white hair according to the packaging, including at the roots
  • 3D Color Gel Technology — blends light, medium, and dark tones so the result looks dimensional, not flat
  • Keratin and amino acids — conditioning ingredients in the formula and the after-color conditioner for a smooth, shiny finish
  • Pack options — Single, Pack of 3, and Pack of 6 for one-time use or regular root touch-ups

How to Use

Read the leaflet and do the skin allergy test 48 hours before every use, even if you have used Colorsilk before. Put on the gloves, add the colorant to the developer bottle, and shake until blended. Apply to dry, unwashed hair, starting at the roots for touch-ups or working from roots to ends for a full application, then wait 25 minutes. Rinse with warm water until it runs clear, apply the after-color conditioner, leave it for two minutes, and rinse. Store unopened kits in a cool, dry place away from heat and sunlight, and discard any mixed color you do not use right away, since it cannot be saved for later.

Frequently Asked Questions

What hair color will I get with Revlon Colorsilk shade 43 Medium Golden Brown?
Shade 43 is a warm medium brown with golden undertones that show as honey-toned reflections in natural light. On light or medium brown hair it gives a sunny, warm brown; on dark brown hair the gold shows mainly as a warm sheen. It is a cleaner golden brown than shade 46, which adds a reddish chestnut dimension.

How do I apply Revlon Colorsilk 43 Medium Golden Brown?
Do the skin allergy test printed in the leaflet 48 hours before coloring. On the day, wear the gloves, pour the colorant into the developer bottle, shake, and apply to dry, unwashed hair from roots to ends. Leave it on for 25 minutes, rinse until the water runs clear, then work in the after-color conditioner and rinse again.

Is Revlon Colorsilk 43 ammonia-free, and does it cover gray hair?
Yes on both counts, according to the packaging. Colorsilk 43 Medium Golden Brown is an ammonia-free permanent formula, so there is no sharp ammonia smell during application, and Revlon states 100 percent gray coverage. Because the color is permanent, it grows out rather than washing out, so plan on a root touch-up every few weeks.

How many boxes of Colorsilk 43 do I need for long hair?
One kit is designed for one application on short to medium hair. If your hair is past the shoulders, or very thick, buy two boxes so you do not run out before the ends are saturated, which causes patchy color. The Pack of 3 and Pack of 6 options are the practical choice for long hair or regular root touch-ups.

Good product

Here is a before and after photo of the product… I had to use two boxes because I have very thick hair, but I love the natural highlights that created to get back to my natural color. I have a lot of gray and I’m only in my 30s and the color is so nice that I can still leave my hair unstyled and it looks good completely natural… also it says for grays to leave it in for 35 minutes and I only left it in for 25 minutes because I could tell it was getting very very dark and worried me so I’m happy I did that cause I think it left some natural highlights. Also, the conditioner left my hair, super soft and silky, even though before it wasn’t soft and silky because I was dying already dyed hair.

Affordable Color with Nice Shine

I’ve used this hair dye a few times and it’s a great option for the price. The color came out rich and even, and it covered grays pretty well. I also liked that my hair felt softer than expected afterward, especially with the included conditioner. The application process was simple and the instructions were easy to follow. It does have the typical strong dye smell, but nothing out of the ordinary.Overall, a reliable at-home color that gives good results without spending salon prices.

Cheap, works exactly as expected

If you are in your 40's and the greys are taking over (not the alien kind) then this is a perfect product for you! ...Its cheap, reliable (been using it for years), and does the job exactly as intended.Works great on beard! Color looks natural, unlike some other brands where when used I have looked like my face fell in a tar pit......AND, don't even get me started on the conditioner, my god! Why are they not selling this as a stand alone product! (The one they sell is not the same, I know)
