Frequently Asked Questions
Which thermometers are Braun ThermoScan LF40 caps compatible with?
These LF40 hygiene caps are made for Braun ThermoScan ear thermometers, including the widely sold ThermoScan 3, 5, and 7 models that use the LF40 filter. Braun's own instructions warn against using the thermometer without a filter, so check your manual for the LF40 designation before ordering.
How do I use Braun ThermoScan hygiene caps?
Push the probe of the thermometer straight into a cap in the box until it snaps on, then take the ear reading as you normally would. After the reading, press the eject button to drop the used cap into the trash. Use a new cap for every measurement and for every person to keep the lens clean.
Can I reuse a Braun ThermoScan lens filter?
No. The filters are designed for a single reading. Reusing or washing a cap can leave residue or scratches on the film, which can affect how the infrared sensor reads ear temperature and can transfer earwax between users. Discard each filter after use and store the unused caps closed and dry.
How many caps come in each pack option?
Each box contains 40 disposable LF40 lens filters. The listing is available as a single box, a Pack of 3 with 120 filters, and a Pack of 6 with 240 filters, which suits families with several children, daycare providers, and anyone who checks temperatures often during cold and flu season.
