Kirkland Signature Decaffei...

Kirkland Signature Decaffeinated Coffee is a 3 lb (48 oz / 1.36 kg) resealable tin of dark roast, fine-ground coffee made from select beans sourced from the Americas and decaffeinated using a water-process method with no chemical solvents. It is ground for automatic drip brewers and sold as a single tin, shipped fast from New Jersey.

Kirkland Signature Decaf Coffee: Water-Processed, 99.7% Caffeine Free

  • 99.7% caffeine free — decaffeinated using a water-process method with no chemical solvents
  • Select beans from the Americas — sourced for a dark, full-bodied flavor despite the caffeine removal
  • Dark roast — roasted to a deep color and full-bodied aroma similar to a regular dark roast
  • Fine grind — sized for automatic drip coffee makers, both flat-bottom and cone-filter styles
  • 3 lb (48 oz / 1.36 kg) resealable tin — a family-size tin; reseal the lid tightly after each use
  • OU Kosher certified (U) — certified for consumers with kosher dietary requirements

How to Use

Use about 1 tablespoon of grounds per 6 fl oz of water in a standard drip coffee maker; it also works in pour-over brewers at roughly a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio and in Moka pots filled to the basket line. It is not recommended for French press or cold brew, which need a coarser grind. Store the tin in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight with the lid tightly sealed, avoid the refrigerator or freezer, and use within 2 to 4 weeks of opening for the best flavor.

About Kirkland Signature

Kirkland Signature is Costco Wholesale's private label, introduced in 1995 and covering groceries, household goods, and more at warehouse-club value. Its ground coffee line is roasted and packed to Costco's specifications and is one of the chain's most consistently reordered grocery items. The Decaffeinated Coffee line uses beans from the Americas, processed with water instead of chemical solvents, then dark roasted and fine ground so it is ready for home brewers straight out of the tin. Frequently Asked Questions

Is Kirkland Signature Decaffeinated Coffee really caffeine-free?
It is 99.7 percent caffeine free, exceeding the FDA standard of at least 97 percent caffeine removal for coffee labeled decaffeinated. A typical 8 fl oz cup of regular coffee has about 80 to 100 mg of caffeine, while the same cup of this decaf has only a few milligrams, negligible for most caffeine-sensitive drinkers.

What does the water-process decaffeination method mean?
Water process decaffeination removes caffeine from the green beans using only water and activated charcoal filtration, with no chemical solvents involved. The beans soak in hot water to draw out caffeine, the water is filtered to remove it, and the beans reabsorb their remaining flavor compounds before roasting.

How should I store Kirkland Signature Decaf Coffee once opened?
Keep the tin in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly resealed after each use, away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate or freeze the opened coffee, since temperature changes speed up flavor loss. Use it within 2 to 4 weeks of opening and check the best-by date on the tin.

What is the difference between Kirkland Signature Decaf and Kirkland Signature Colombian Coffee?
Decaf Coffee uses select beans from the Americas, water-processed to remove about 99.7 percent of the caffeine, while Colombian Coffee is made from fully caffeinated Supremo-grade beans grown in Colombia. Both are dark roasted, fine ground, and sold in the same 3 lb tin.
