Persil Universal Powder Lau...

Persil Universal Powder Laundry Detergent is an 11.9 lb (5.4 kg) box of German-made powder detergent with the Tiefenrein deep-clean formula, enough for about 90 wash loads. It is the classic European Persil from Henkel, made for whites and colorfast fabrics and effective from 30 C (86 F) upward, shipped fast from New Jersey.

Persil Universal Powder 90 Loads: German Tiefenrein Deep-Clean Laundry Detergent

  • Tiefenrein deep-clean formula — penetrates into fabric fibers to lift stubborn stains and embedded dirt such as grease, food, and sweat
  • Universal formula for whites and colorfast fabrics — keeps whites bright and colorfast items vivid; not for wool or silk
  • Effective at low temperatures — cleans from 30 C (86 F) and can be used up to 95 C (203 F) for heavily soiled cotton
  • Limescale protection — built-in water softening helps protect the washing machine with every load
  • 11.9 lb (5.4 kg) for about 90 loads — the large European family box, packed in recyclable paper fiber
  • Made in Germany by Henkel — the authentic European Persil formula, not a US reformulation

How to Use

Sort laundry and use the powder for whites and colorfast fabrics in a standard or HE washing machine. Dosing per load follows the box: about 85 mL (roughly 1/3 cup) for lightly soiled laundry in soft water, about 105 mL (a little under 1/2 cup) for a normal load, and up to 160 mL (about 2/3 cup) for heavily soiled laundry or hard water. Add the powder to the detergent drawer or directly into the drum, then wash between 30 C and 95 C (86 F to 203 F). Store the box closed in a dry place, away from children.

About Persil

Persil is Henkel's flagship laundry brand, introduced in Germany in 1907 as one of the first self-acting laundry detergents. The European Persil sold by Henkel is a different formula from the Persil marketed in the United States, and the Universal powder in the classic green box is the version most German households know. Henkel is headquartered in Dusseldorf and produces Persil at plants across Europe. Find more cleaning and laundry products in our Health & Household collection. Learn more at persil.de.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fabrics and washing machines is Persil Universal Powder suitable for?
Persil Universal is made for whites and colorfast fabrics such as cotton, linen, and blended everyday laundry. It should not be used on wool or silk; Persil makes separate products for those. The powder works in standard top-loading and front-loading machines, including high-efficiency models, at temperatures from 30 C to 95 C (86 F to 203 F).

How much Persil Universal Powder should I use per load?
Follow the dosing chart printed on the box. As a guide, use about 85 mL for lightly soiled laundry in soft water, about 105 mL for a normal load, and up to 160 mL for heavily soiled laundry or hard water. Measured this way, the 11.9 lb (5.4 kg) box gives roughly 90 washes.

Is Persil Universal Powder safe to store around children and pets?
As with any laundry detergent, keep the box closed and stored out of reach of children and pets, in a dry place away from food. Avoid breathing in the powder while dosing, and rinse hands after use. If the powder is swallowed or gets into eyes, follow the first aid instructions printed on the packaging.

Is this the German Persil or the US version?
This is the German Persil Universal Powder made by Henkel, with German packaging and the Tiefenrein deep-clean formula sold across Europe. It is not the US-market Persil, which is made under license by a different company with a different recipe. Real Prime Deals imports the European box and ships it from New Jersey.
